"Evil" has always existed, throughout time people have felt this way. Like it's the end times(christians?).
Do good. Don't worrry about what others do, you cannot make them dance like marionettes for you. But you, yourself, can make a difference. do good.

"Good" & "Evil" have always exsisted since man was created... (by evolution or by God on sixth day).
However you view it, it has to exsist to have balance. If there wasn't a thing known as "good" then how would you know "evil"? School history books have been arranged to reflect a less harsh reality. There is an old saying that there is nothing new under the sun.
Before and after shakespear there have been three things of intrest Love, Tragedy, and Comedy everything in between are shades of gray. So with that said the reason that most people feel there is more chaos or "evil" in the world is due to media coverage.
War is nothing new... i.e. Mesopotamian cultures, Mangolian Empire, Roman Empire, United States... just a continuation.
The world is not pretty the world is not ugly... it is pretty ugly.
The same atrocities have been occuring and will continue to occur the human animal can be very menacing.
Turn the tv off (disconnect from the media pipeline), until you feel better.

This is a sure sign that you are now ready to move your sights and attention away from the world around you and concentrate on the world within you!!
Nothing is ever one-sided... the world is as well filled with good deeds and thoughts which we notice whenever we ourselves shun evil.

Lemme see, ever since Nero was throwing Christians to the lions, the Spanish Inquisition was dooming off thousands of women at the stake, Hitler and Stalin annihilated millions, not to mention all the other genocides, wars and depradations that mankind has brought on themselves over the years and you're just now saying what's going on? Hmmm,.....
I'd have to say life is as it always was....

People commit evils simply because they are profoundly insecure and are wallowing in self-hate.
Think about it: do you know of any excessively nasty acting person who is self confident and likes themself? You'll never meet one because they don't exist.
As for why some people are overwhelmed with self-hate; too many reasons to list.
