There are four learning skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Of course they are not independent from one another. For example, in conversation, we both "listen" and "speak". Also, when we "write" something, we also "read".

However, some learners may find it "easier" to understand written than spoken English. Others may find it "easier" to understand spoken English than to actually communicate in English.

Ability to grasp knowledge in any field with adequate intentions to apply it to practise.
To achieve this it involves making good use of ones all physical and mental skills so as to ensure best possible understanding and assimilation making it good enough not only for personal use but also to transfer the knowledge further for the benefit of others.
