Old PS2 vs Slim PS2 which is better?

I am planning to start video game parlor of PS2 there are two versions of PS2 the old (bulky) one and latest slim model. Slim one is cool and sexy but I heard that slim model has major heating problem due to which it cant be played for long time. It gets very hot after 4-5 hours, but there is no such heating problem in old model. So people I just want to know advantage and disadvantages betweeen these two models. Also is there any major difference between these models for graphics? or it is same good in both. Please friends help to choose best option for my video parlor, serious answers only please.

I thought they made the slim model so it would be more portable. If you will have it stationary, I see no problem with the older type. I have to older big one and it has lasted for years with thousands of hours of playtime.

Slim PS2 has internet capabilities built in, while with the old PS2, you have to get the network adapter. Slim PS2 cannot have the hard drive, but the old PS2 can use the hard drive. You only need the hard drive if you want to play Final Fantasy XI. No other games uses the hard drive.

The Second release of the PS2 is the better system, the first have the bugs still in them the 3rd(slimline) they took the fan out and gave it a external power adapter both bad Ideas the only good thing with tha slimline is tha built in modem. I would try to get my hands on the Second release ones, and get some modems fer them they dontcost much anymore, however the slimline does have a little better graphics engine but there again is it worth the overheating and breakdowns the graphics get fuzzier when it starts to heat?

We are a Videogame Seller based in Gurgaon near New Delhi so here is what we can recommed :

If you are starting a game parlor do not go for PS2 at all. Xbox 360 is the in thing, the next generation console and if you can have LCD TV for gameplay, your game parlor will rock. Xbox 360 can be connected to LCD monitors also through VGA cable so that is also a cool option. 360 games Graphics on LCD are mind blowing.

However if you still want to use old generation consoles for your game parlor and give what every general game parlor offers then here is what we can advise :

Old Model PS2

1. Old model PS2 available in market are all refurbished and not new so do not expect any new Old PS2 models.

2. Old model PS2 parts are difficult to obtain and in many cases old model PS2 become unrepairable or very costly to repair.

3. Old model PS2 are more durable when they work and can withstand more torture for game parlor use.

4. Old model PS2 have inbuilt provision for installing hard disk.

New model PS2
---------------------

1. New model PS2 are not meant for game parlor use. They are meant for home use mostly.

2. No hard disk option is there by default in new model PS2.

3. New model PS2 is very inexpensive to maintain and can be repaired easily.

4. New model PS2 is light weight and more portable.

The old/original model is probably the best if you plan on playing your console much. If you only use it to listen to a music CD once in a while, the slim model is fine. But I suspect you want to do more than that. I don't see any real disadvantage to the old model, apart from the overall relative shoddiness of Sony consoles. But that's there with the slim model too, so I suggest the old PS2.

the old one the bulky one the slimmer has a problem it heats up really quickly and then not alot of play time or gets ruined

slinm one is the best. i have a slim one and it did not get very hot even when i played for 4 hours.besides if it gets hot its not gonna explode
