After the 9-11 attacks the U.S. government could not find anyone who spoke Farsi, the language spoken in the Middle East. if you have special skills, like language and/or background (specific education in a foreign country, etc.), the best thing to do is apply.

Never assume anything in life. Always put your best efforts forward and allow others evaluate you when necessary.

have a well prepared resume and network... go to functions and bars or whatever to try to get your foot in the door, but don't become the creepy guy who stalks the employees... also start from the bottom and work your way up, of course... find out about internships
