Not sure why exactly, but I found the movie kind of confusing and they left out aspects of the book, which is normal for any book to movie conversion. What are your thoughts?

Loved the book....cut class to stay home & finish it. I didn't expect much from the movie, so I wasn't too disappointed. You know how the book's written....it keeps moving from character to character in different places, there's so much going on simultaneously. Its easy to follow when you read it, but to narrate the same story visually is a monster challenge. Plus, the book's so full of all these fascinating details and history which add to its excitement.....you can't explain all of it through a film, which is why the movie versions will always appear lacking to people who've read (and loved!) the original books.

The book was better.
They cut some off some of the stuff in the movie and changed the story a little, and i don't think Tom Hanks got the character right. I did not find it confusing though, but i'd still pick the book over the movie.

My opinion is that neither the book nor the movie were very entertaining - and I graduated high school with Tom Hanks and really like most of his other work.

There are more engrossing novels and their film counterparts. Just my opinion.
