how can i log in in the main admin acount of my laptop.. the one with the administrator as the name. coz it says that it will not show up in the welcome screen if there is another account that is a computer admin type. it only shows up on the safe mode. but i cannot delete the other admin account cos it says that there should be atleast one more user with a computer admin account....

every XP and Vista has a secret Admin account. To access to it, restart your computer, press F8 a few times right after it has started, till you get to the Boot Menu, move cursor to Safe Mode, then hit Enter, wait a min..then you'll be at the log-in screen, select the Administration account. This is the secret Admin account

You should create another account with your name and then assign the administrator rights to this new account. Then you don't need to use the administrator account because you will have the same rights as administrator. It should be in the settings when you are making another acount

GO to safemode of windows. Remove all other user's accounts or disable all other account. reset ur computer and boot in normal mode. then login with the administrator account. this is the account which is shown in safemode. dont disable this accout.

You must change the way that you log in so that you have to enter the username. it is found under User Accounts, then click "Change the way I log on", tick off welcome screen and the other option (forgotten what it is) and then log off.

Have you gone into control panel in your start menue? There it has the user accounts settings. ;)
