Head phones...ear buds don't stay in and are nasty,but head phones filter out more outside noise.

ear buds, but the ones with the silicone "cone" that fits into your ear like plugs. The regular ones are too big for my ears and cause too much pain
No headphones - - can't touch the foamy stuff around them, makes the skin crawll just thinking about it.
