Only some metals are magnetic. What is the reason for metals like iron to show property of magnetism?

In addition to alignment the magnetic materials don't "hold on" to their electrons as much as non-magnetic materials. It is this freedom of the electrons to move that allows for the magnetism because magnetism arises from the movement of electrically charged particles (such as electrons).

bcoz the atoms in metals align themselves
where as in other materials atoms r so hither tither that they cant align themselves
