Interesting that quasicrystalline tiling in Arabic mosaics became news on the 23rd ?

Pythagoras was around around 500 or so BC, much of the maths needed to generate quasicrystalline tiling was available then. Similar maths can be interpreted from the bible, and certainly students ever since have worked with the philosophies involved.
