there are lots of players in ground Like RedHat, Fedora(RedHat's Project), MandrivaLinux(best on all features), SuSeLinux(Second Best but less stable if urn't concern), Debian Linux, Linspire, Ubuntu Linux, MEPIS Linux etc etc......
Redhat is s/w company that provides s/w and drivers for Linux Kernel. Or in short u can say it is OS developer company like Microsoft. The same applied to all the names i given above. Fedora Core 6 is Latest in RH's bucket. and Mandriva LInux 2007, SuSe LInux 2007 are latest.

THAT LATEST IS RED HAT 10, IT IS NOT CLASIFIED AS VERSIONS, DIFFERENT TYPES
eg; FEDORA CORE, RED HAT, SUSI, .......
