Hold down on your Ctrl and alt and delete all at the same time until a window pops up asking to end task click on it and wait for another window pops up to confirm click end task. If this dose not work you will have to reboot.

close the i e with hold control+alt and hit the delete key
after this reinstall the internet explore again

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and under the applications tab select IE and click on end task.

While it has focus, ALT+F4 keys will close it.
If that doesn't work CTRL+ALT+Delete can be used to open Task Manager, from which you can close IE.

right click on the name in the bar click close
when the window pops up click finalize
