Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York.

"I used gun control as mayor," he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But "I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms."

He said what he did as mayor would have "no effect on hunting".

Sounds like any other mealy-mouthed democratic liberal. Sounds like Hanoi John Kerry, as a matter of fact.

HEY RUDY? The right to keep and bear arms has NOTHING to do with hunting. Okay? Jeez!

Why don't we just kick this b*stard out of the Republican Party?

Rudy is A Rino.. anyone who considers this man a true conservative is a idiot.. Romney isn't any better..Both have a terrible record when it comes to gun owners rights.
I agree Giuliani shouldn't be able to call himself Republican or run on the Republican ticket..

The thing is Romney or Giuliani would be better then Clinton or Obama who want to outright Erase the Second Amendment .

Kick him out of the Republican party, excuse me the Democrats would not take Guiliani, he's a full blown Nazi Neocon. He and his cronies the Bush admin, and the Illuminati have big plans for the murderous likes of him. After all he did prove that he was capable of anything for money. He is one of many who looked the other way on 911, he did more than look away he was complacent for the whole nine yards. In fact Guiliani was the key man in charge of getting the Imploded structural steel from the Twin Towers, out of the country as soon as it could ,be loaded on to flat bed trucks. Off to China it went, before anyone could inspect it for causes and effects, now isn't that just criminal. Guiliani is a dog, a liar, and a cheat. He's a premadonna and a full blown Nazi Bastard!!
How can anyone with a pc not know the truth about the likes of Rudy Guiliani, I guess some Americans just don't give a damn !

Well, I'm a conservative and I thought he was great during the 9/11 crisis, however, there are a few things about that day and him being involved with the lease-holder of the twin towers. And the leaseholder only paid $15 mil. for all the buildings, and had made sure to get insurance coverage for terrorism, then ended up with a pot of $900 million. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but what I did see gave me the creeps about him ever getting to the White House.

Giuliani is not a Democrat but he may be in the middle somewhere and prefers to run as a Republican. He is the best man for the job of president and he should not be kicked out of the Republican party. His stand on guns is clear and understandable. No handguns unless they are first registered with the state. Rifles OK, but not automatic weapons. His policy is sound. I own a rifle and it is not registered but my handgun is and has been for 15 years.

You have no idea how much I enjoy seeing raving lunatic conservatives like you bashing Giuliani. He's the only candidate you guys have that stands a chance at keeping the Presidency for the Republicans. Happy hunting!

Are you kidding me? Guiliani is a hand puppet for the Republican party. To call him a liberal is an insult to Liberals everywhere! It's really comforting to know that there's no way in hell that he'll ever see the inside of the West Wing. He's way too flawed--even by Republican standards. Let's see 3 wives (and one was his own cousin--eww), he had his mistress in Gracie Mansion; where his wife and kids lived! He served his wife divorce papers during a press conference (even Newt Gingrich had to frown on that one) . New Yorkers hated him. He tried to over turn the number of times a person could serve as mayor of NYC. His only so-called redeeming quality, he was the mayor of NYC during 9/11....yeah, he smells like a Republican to me.

rudy did lower the crime rate in NY. he is a little liberal, but a littel liberal is not a bad thing. because he is a thinker. when i stop and actually think about stuff, which is what is supposed to set conservatives apart from liberals, i have some ideas that fall on the liberal side. i pray rudi ends up in the white house. rudi is also in favor of bing able to protect oneself. but in a place like NY shooting the guy breaking into your house could inadvertently kill you neighbor pretty easily. you vant measure a man on one issue look at his intire track record. he is a thinking man who also cares about the people of this country. he would make a great leader. really aside from heathboy2 having absolutely no idea what he is talking about most of the answers on here are pretty good. he has some flaws. but NY tried to change the term limit laws to keep him which he PUBLICLY TOLD THEM NOT TO DO DURING A NATIONAL PRESS CONFERENCE FOLLOWING 9/11. wow he has had three wives so what he had an affair, so did slick willie. he is a human and he is flawed and unlike so many slick politicians these days he admits to it. more than i can say for bill or hillary. they lie at every turn. nothing is their fault, and when it is they didnt know that what they were doing was wrong so it is not their fault.

Rudy and McCain are both against private gun ownership. They are social liberals.

hahaha... I'm going to take a page out of the "Republican playbook" from about 6 or so months ago to give you an answer...

except I'm going to change the word "Democrat" to "Republican" and the name "Joe Lieberman" to "Rudy"... and I'm paraphrasing here working from memory, so forgive anything I have forgotten...

"Republicans hate it when anyone in their party thinks differently than they do. They are like a mind control cult.

As soon as anyone starts supporting anything that the party line doesn't support they throw them under the bus. Rudy is just standing up for what he believes in and he want's what's best for America.

Too bad Republicans can't see past their own party to think about what's best for America."

I find this amusing... just me...
