I'm in my first relationship, it's been over a year now. I've learned so much! If It weren't 5am, I bet I could think of better things to say, :P well here are some..

1. Don't allow someone to change who you are to make it easier for them to be with you. Do change for yourself, and for the better. The same thing with trying to change someone. Don't expect that you can change a person just because you think they're wrong. Try suggesting things that you both need to work on to improve.

2. I've learned to trust a man. For years I've lived in fear of getting close to guys. It took a lot of months, long talks just so I could let him in. I realized all the fears I've had of guys were quite exaggerated. There are decent men out there, not all are the talll, dark, and handsome fairy tale men we grew up searching for.

3. Don't go into a relationship thinking being in one will cure your problems. Don't ever expect your partner to make all your problems to go away, and make everything better. That's a huge burden to put on someone.

Pay only half. HALF. I have been in four long term relationships. The first two turned out to be using drugs. The third was deported but not before I learned that he was refusing to pay for three children. Oh, and married. The pig lied about that too. He was deported and was back the next month. Can you believe he was bugging me to have a baby? Watch your back!

Take it one day at a time.

Cherish every special moment and commit them to memory.

Follow your heart, even when it seems like where it leads is frightening.
