In my opinion, same-sex passionate friendships don't work. In my case....my husband of 12 years (I'm 31) is 'straight' and has a 'straight' male friend for 20 years. Over the years I have seen the love they have for eachother just grow, all in a non-sexual way. But then their passion for eachother became too much when they decided to mess around with eachother. They enjoyed it so much, but didn't want to mess up their straight lives. They have had sexual relations at least 10 times or so in the last several years. But now, months will go by before they talk again. Because what happens when they get together??? The passion for eachother just kicks in and once you are passionate like that with your same-sex friend, it will never be the same. Trust me, good friends are hard to come by...and if you get passionate, you could ruin a totally good friendship.
On the otherhand, if you have no significant others in your life, then maybe a passionate friendship would be fine. As long as you won't be hurting someone else you love in the process, then go for it.

Well it might be just a passionate friendship... But most of the times there is some inequivalent, not corresponding subconscious emotional investment behind it. Often people who are too scared to invest fully in a real love relationship invest - without realizing it- some of those feelings in a friendships of that kind. It is not a matter of sexual attraction as of emotional investment.

With the experience of my few friends, all they can say is,well the sex was good or bad and after that some work for a few weeks more and some just at that moment and the friendship is gone. Why not try and find yourself out. What are friends for, to be used and to be abused, right?

i've had this one experience that torn my world apart...This guy was so good to me and yet i didn't really treat him like so important and still he treated me so nicely unlike to his other closest friends. It felt like we were reaching another level so i've had to cut the the relationship. We were separated for a long time about six or seven years and then all of sudden he was there again. So, I freaked out and i always jumped out from the scene whenever he was there!! Then before our final meeting for good he told me that "you don't even notice me," and i can still remember the looks of his face. It felt like his world was in total disaster! I felt the entire of it because i can still remember the moment wherein i decided to live my life without him. I could say it's kinda confusing and i like to live my life without confusion. That's all thanks.

It's fine as long as they do not treat each other as husbands and wives. Then, (in my Christian way of THINKING) it would be a sin.
