I trim the hairs around my private area. Not shave.

Exfoliate gently 2 days before waxing and 2 days after. Do NOT shower 2 hours before or 2 hours after waxing, Do NOT use ANY products (lotion) until after that first shower after waxing and if you can, until the next day, waxing creates and open "wound" so to speak so you need to be gentle. Immediately after waxing gently hold (with the palm of your hand) the area you waxed, apply a little pressure. Make sure you hold your skin taut while waxing and make sure you are using the proper wax AND doing it right. Also, try to go a week or 2 without any aggravation to the area, keep exfoliating gently every other day and keep yourself cool and dry as much as possible. Try wearing boy shorts or wearing skirts or dresses. It could be chaffing. Try changing lotions also to see if that could be irritating your skin, remember that part of your body is particularly sensitive. Always shave down first, then up of course like you said gently and the same rules apply, let yourself dry out first every chance you get.

Yes. Female. I only do it once a month to prevent overgrowth and for sanitary reasons. I can't shave my privates everyday because the skin down there is too delicate. I only do it for me and not my spouse. Personal preference.
