Check with your local dealerships - they often take in used homes as trade-ins.
Obviously, you should also be looking at your newspapers.

They sell about 15,000/week. If you are looking into a large community, they even have pictures of the houses for sale. I am in the industry, but only deal in new. I recommend this site for anyone looking for pre-owned. Your price, depending on where you are, should get you something you like.
