Fine, get educational toys for your son in my experience educational toys get boring fast.
Let your son enjoy his childhood. Let him play with little cars, action figues, and read comic books.
He's a kid. Don't force him to grow up so fast.

My son enjoys Discovery Toys. They are a catolog based company. He enjoys them so much I started selling them so I can earn free toys!

I would recommend Lego's or other building blocks.
They stimulate the imagination, teach them engineering problem solving skills and improve small motor skills that helps improve handwriting (inherent to boys).
