how do i kill the rathian and rathos in troublesome pair?

hey i'm having some trouble.... i can't seem to seperate them from each other and i have all the item neccessary but when i hit on the other tackles me. i have killed 32 rathos and 27 rathians so im expeirinced and i have a poison battle axe and full rathos aromor
