Not at all. China will be exerting its global influence by economic means rather than military means. During the past four years, China's economic growth had been at a steady 10% yearly increase which is the highest in the world. But of course it is obvious that as China's economic growth continue to increase, and so too is its military budget allocation. I just hope that China wouldn't be resorting to military force in carrying out its future global intentions.

China is slowly asserting its influence in the African continent. On one hand, Africa has oil and other natural resources which is what China needs for its rapidly growing industries. On the other hand, China has the industrial and technological base which is what Africa needs for its infra-structure development and modernization. This is a mutual give-and-take relationship that is beneficial for both parties.

Unfortunately, the U.S. had neglected Africa for so long. The U.S. had been focusing too much of its attention in the Middle-East. The moment of timing is perfectly right for China in establishing long-term relationship with African nations. Whatever little U.S. influence that is still left in Africa, it continues to be eroded day by day.

Exactly the same situation is happening in South America. China's influence in this region is continuously expanding, while the U.S. influence in the region is slowly being diminished. South America had been neglected by the U.S. for so long too. And China is playing it smart enough to fill that gap.

Let there be a fair competition, why fear from others rise?
It is a world of equal opportunities and every one must have the right to progress peacefully.
This mindset, faring the rise of others over you, must be taken in a positive manner and urge you to work harder than Chinese. Win through competition on merit.
Let the peace and Justice rule the world for a change.
Is it a cry in the desert?
I hope not !!!!!!!!!

What's peaceful about China?? People are terrified to demand change after the Tiananmen Square Massacre (Read about it here: http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/tiananmen.html).

And haven't you listened to the news in recent years? The free country of Taiwan is STILL not allowed to even think about ever being independent of China... The Chinese government is champing at the bit to pull Taiwan back in underneath it's Communist umbrella.

China is STILL imprisoning any and all folk who speak a disagreeing word against the Chinese government.

There's NO PEACE in China... just people cowering in craven fear of a brutal government...

No. Twenty years ago, Japan was set to "take over America". Then their economy went in the toilet. You don't hear about it anymore.

If we decide to stop buying from China overnight, they'd be in much more dire straits than us, eventually.
