Will they find enough cash to lock up Morneau, Santana, Cuddyer, and Hunter to longer deals? If not, who do you think will depart from my beloved Twins? I would love to see them all be there when the new ballpark opens, but after locking up Mauer, I just am not confident that they will have the $$$ to hold onto all these great players.

I think they know that they have to lock up their MVP and step up to sign Morny. Cuddyer too, he will come cheaper and the Twins stuck with him though some mediocre years. I PRAY they come up with the cash to sign Santana, but I give them a 50/50 chance at best... he is gonna demand a record contract most likely. Sorry to say that I think it's Torii's last year in MN... but I thought that last year too...

They will find a way to keep Santana long term, he is too good to let go. And especially with the injury questions of Liriano, they can't afford to let Santana walk. Hunter was always one of my favorites, but I don't think he will stay a Twin after this year. With the market that outfielders are getting now, he could command money way out of the Twins price range if he has an injury free 2007, and although I think he would give the Twins a discount, I don't know if they will give him a multi-year deal at a competitive price. Cuddyer I think they will be able to keep for reasonably cheap. He is a good player but I don't see him turning in to a star and getting Torii Hunter money, so they should be able to afford him. At this point I am unsure about Morneau. I imagine that he will command a high price when he can leave. I hope that the idea of playing with his buddy Mauer and contending for a championship every year will keep him in Minnesota for a reasonable price. If they can keep Morneau, Mauer, Cuddyer, and Santana they will be competitive in the future, so hopefully with the new ballpark ownership will be willing to take the payroll to the $90-100 mllion range, which I think is what it would take to keep all these stars.
