but what if you are obesed by about 70 pounds. I'm 5'3-5'4 220 pounds. i think average recommend weight is 130-140lbs. So would it still be bad to lose weight. Or don't gain any extra weight. I have enough of me to sustain a pregnancy. I really don't want to gain more weight.

I am siginificantly overweight, and during the first half of my pregnancy gained within the recommended amount. However during the second half of the pregnancy, I lost approx. 8 kilograms as I had to work hard with gestational diabetes. Baby was perfect.
The main thing is to eat enough to sustain both yourself and the baby. It is NOT the time to diet, but if by eating a balanced controlled diet with little added sugar and balanced nutrients, you should be alright, and some weight loss could happen.

My obstetrician didn't worry about my weight loss, but we had a few extra ultrasounds to make sure baby was developing and growing on schedule, just to make sure.

When i got pregenant with my son i weighed 140. After he was born i was up to 220. I am also 5'4 When I go pregenant with my daughter, I weighed 200. When i had her, I weighed 203. It will not hurt the baby if you do not gain weight, just as long as it is because you are eating healthier, and not eating less. My daughter is proof of that. She came out weighing 6lbs15oz and I was down to 180 after all the fluid was gone. I didn't even try. I was just eating better, and moving more cause of my job. I didn't realize i was pregenant until I was 51/2 months cause I had lost so much weight in the beginning. I gained it back at the end though.

you are supposed to gain 3lb a week whilst pregnant. This is why you should loose the weight you need to and have a healthy body weight before you get pregnant.
