Thats my mothers name. I think it is wonderful!! Some people can say things about names that aren't theirs. It's up to you. The name doesn't make the person. Some people are named Diamond, Star, and that other stuff. That doesn't mean anything! As the saying goes," What's in name?" If you like it, go for it!!!

It's a cute name and you don't hear it too much nowadays. However, it might be a name your child will go by when she is very young...but when she gets a bit older or even gets into the working world, she might not want to be known by Tammie, simply because it has a young, little girl sound to it. You might think about using it as her nickname and having her 'actual' name be either Tamara, Tamalyn or Tamarise.

I knew a Tamera and a Tamela, neither went by Tammie, but there's nothing wrong with Tammie if you like the name.

I don't like it. Maybe Tamara would be better and use Tammie as a nickname.

A name is only as good as the personality attatched to it.

It's outdated. In its day it was a good name, but no one names their kid that now.
