Can i buy a game from europe with PAL format and still play it on a USA system?

please help i want to buy PES 6 ( pro evolution soccer 6) and im not sure if i can play it on my laptop, is there a PES 6 in NTSC version? any help

PC games are universal and therefore will work on all PC and laptops if you have the required software and hardware.

But case becomes different if you are using games on consoles. For example if the game PES 6 is for Xbox 360 then it is region encoded and will work only on that region console. Pro Evolution 6 Xbox 360 PAL region game will work on PAL Xbox 360 and not on other NTSC or NTSC-J Xbox 360. However there are other region free games on Xbox 360 which will work on any region Xbox 360 as follows :

As long as you want to play it on your Laptop, it will work. However console versions like Playstation, Xbox or similar will not work.

Since a PC architecture is the same worldwide you can play PC and Laptop games on any machine worldwide.

However consoles have to work with the different TV-norms in different countries. Due to the differences in NTSC and PAL it is often impossible to play European games on US Systems.

Furthermore, most consoles have a special region coding, that (similar to the DVDs) prohibits you from playing games from other regions (e.g. even if Japan games are NTSC, too, they will not play on your console).
