will NEON SRT4 engine swap into 05 Pt Cruiser Convert.?

Will a Neon SRT4 enigne fit into a 2005 Pt Cruiser convertable with no adjustments to a manual trans., fire wall, and mounting places

Probably will fit, but not without some major cobbling of the front end (firewall may have to be modified, you'll probably have to formulate new linkages for fuel lines, brake lines, and air intake). In the long run, it would probably be a lot cheaper and easier to modify your stock PT engine..there's a lot of stuff you can do..headers and exhaust modifications, intake changes and supercharger and/or nitrous oxide, even inside the engine stuff, like a cam swap, and there's always engine enhancement by boring and/or stroking it! If you want to spend a lot of money, go ahead and try the swap...but I'd suggest you try the engine modification route instead. It'll be a lot less expensive and not nearly as much work (and remember labor costs are the major part of any automotive work!)

Many years ago I switched an Aries Wagon from a 2.6L Mitsu to a 2.2L Mopar 4 cyl. I switched the entire front subframe, trans & engine, CV shafts, brakes ... the complete front clip, including computer. Most time spent was unplugging and re-installing the wiring loom at the dash from the 2.6l to the 2.0L. 2 wiring diagrams and some patience and voila! Everything worked including the Tachometer. Patience Grasshopper.
I am just about to do the same thing to a P.T. Cruiser with a 2.0L this time with a 5 speed manual.

U would need the complete electrical system to be compatible.Everything would be different. Unless U have a lot of $$$ I won't do it.

it should fit pt cruiser and neon are same chassis chassis
