i try my hardest not to refer to it...ever. The only time i say anything about it is if my mom brings it up. I don't discuss it with my friends. If they start talking about it, i'll listen to what they have to say, and try and change the subject after they are done. But then again, that's just me. I've always been more of a tomboy anyway. I just started getting friends that were female in like the 7th grade, a whole 2 1/2 years after i started. When i was around the guys, if i was cranky and one of them asked "whats wrong with you, is it your time of the month or something?" i would just respond with "is it yours?" And that would get that subject out of the way. You don't have to 'communicate' about it with your friends. Why do they need to know?

When my mom was young, i know that her friends would be like "i have my friend" or "the curse" because no one talked about things like that. you guys could come up with a codeword like if you're at the mall, do you guys wanna go to Abercrombie & Fitch, i saw something cool there. (Auntie Flo-Abercrombie&Fitch) get it, the A and the F. if you're not, idk why you would need to announce it, but if you absolutely have to, just say, my cousin TOM is here, and I need to go see him soon. (Time Of Month) People say "i'm on the rag" because a while back, beofre pads or tampons were invented, women actually used rags to absorb the flow, so they were literally "on a rag" It was very obvious who had it and who did it, because you had to pin them to your underwear, with a thick leather belt. Aren't you glad for what we have now?

I agreee period, rag that is so explicit. Just say, when talking to your girlfriends and if by chance guys are around which you should not even be talking about it in front of guys to begin with, unless deep down you really want them to know. But anyway an oldie but goodie is, "my friend is coming this weekend." Or My aunt Flo is in town all week and she drives me crazy I hate hearing about her fresh baked apple pies and her stupid farm! Guys will have no clue...good luck

Either I call it an annoyance or a disease. In a way it is a disease because it's not fun and makes me tired most of the time and also depressed. It's also an annoyance because it happens every month. Only talk about with friends you can trust.

You could say my Aunt Flow called. Some people call it the rag. Because b4 sanitary napkins were invented. We used rags.

being on the rag is disgusting, that is a disgusting thing to say and it gives boys an ugly idea. You should say I am on my period. If you want to communicate with your freinds about it and you dont want boys to hear, dont say things around boys.

Save yourself the trouble of all that and dont talk to anyone about it unless it is an emergency(bummin a tampon) you know then just make that frnd go with you to the restroom girls do that all the time they wont suspect a thing
