She can navigate the Internet very well, knows the Microsoft Office Suite pretty well, different operating systems, troubleshoots some, types fast when instant messaging friends but not that fast when copying text. She lives and breathes the computer most of the day. Most computer related jobs require excellent communication skills, including some telephone work. Is there something more routine that she could do. Don't say data processing because the job openings usually require the ability to type 80 words a minute and when timed, she is about 35 wpm. She has an Associate's Degree with a concentration in computers: a little of everything - hardware, software, a little web design, a little programming, etc. Other than a semester of unpaid internship she has no work experience. Any ideas for paid work at a business or at home? As far as web design goes she was able to learn the basics of html, but on her own needs help with designing the webpage (the creativity part).

Computer Programming or a Computer Analyst. My husband is shy and doesn't have the greatest communication skills, but he excels at programming.

via fact which you state which you quite prefer to be a publicist then substantial in mass communications! that's what communications is all approximately!! and since the 1st answerer reported they do no longer furnish Liberal Arts tiers as a Bachelors of technological expertise. you mustn't hassle approximately having a BA somewhat than a BS via fact the only distinction rather is the style of math and technological expertise classes, which you will no longer choose as a publicist. btw, many faculties require scholars to have atleast 2d year skills in a foreign places language to graduate regardless of their degree, be it BS or a BA.

I would highly recommend programming, perhaps something in Windows, C+, or Java. Check out this link, very useful:

However, if that is something she isn't interested in, she could always work on databases or graphic design/webmaster.

Good luck!
