don't just consider popularity, but plot, character development, and all that stuff as well

lost is by far the better show, in terms of acting, writing and production levels...its a no contest

Obviously you can break this down many ways, and I will be honest and tell you I'm a fan of Heroes, and find LOST, dull and meandering.
But also, heroes to me is the better show because, by defintition it does not have an end. Lost's interest is built on the questions "are they actually dead in heaven" "will they get off the island" etc. once these questions are answered the show is over,
For heroes, it can resolve all the business of the NY explosion coming up, and still have somewhere to go.
So I go with Heroes

Lost. It's a very cerebral show, and one that can't be watched causally, on and off...just like Heroes, but I like it better. It has incredible charatcers, twisting plots and quite a 'mythology' around it, in terms of the numbers, the Dharma Initiative, the Hanso Foundation, etc. And the marketing is pretty interesting too...did you know they had, almost subliminal, ads for Lost hidden inside ads for Jeep, and Mountain Dew (I think). I have not seen lost but I love heroes the plot is awesome there are so many versatile characters and it keeps you on the edge of your seat every week!

Heroes is awesome. i never really got into Lost. I watched the very first episodes and it just didn't keep me interested. I haven't missed an episode of Heroes and can't wait to see what happens next week!

I like Heroes more. To me its more interesting because of the comic book like special abilities people are developing. Also they move through story lines faster then Lost.

Haven't watched Lost but I just LOVE Heroes!
It's my favorite along with 24.

lost would be my answer a year ago when everything was just original and when i wasnt sick of the cliffhangers. But Heroes hands down as theres always something new going on.
