.humm...well tell me them. What have you - those who "support" the troops so fervently --- done for the troops to show them you "support" them. (And please don't answer that you sent them a friggen "care package."because little children from the U.S. do that anyway, without being asked.) Tell me what you have done to "support" our troops BESIDES mouthing that you "support them",or flying a flag on your patios/porches..

I wanted to know what YOU do, not to be told to ask a soldier! I don't believe many of you do anything.

Cheney just said that those who don't support BushOilCo and Halliburton while they plunder are supporting the terrorists. He has now said that 68% of Americans and the majority of Congress are on the side of the terrorists! These are the same guys who gutted the budget for the VA and revered Vet retirement homes. The money for those homes comes out of the pay of active duty soldiers. Support our troops indeed.

Well here{Canada} we are in the same boat, I live near and work in our National Capital, we see many troops here on daily basis. When I cross paths with one, I say Thank You, they know exactly what it is for. Because of our troops we have the luxury of getting up every morning, going about our day doing whatever we want, and going to sleep in our comfy beds at night. Why????? Because our troops PASTand PRESENT are doing a job that most of us would NOT dream of doing.

SUPPORT OUR TROOP

1, the troops don't want to come home until there job is done. I know this because I'm married to one. 2, everybody who says,
" I protest against the war & troops in Iraq so that they can come" home are idiots. By protests against the war you let the enemy know that the American will is broken & doing so will actually keep our troops there longer fighting an enemy who thinks it can win. How you get our guuys home early is to let the enemy think we will fight how ever long it takes & do what ever it takes to change hearts & minds & to choose democracy. 3 all of you people who watch one sided liberal media, NBC, AP, NYT, etc. really don't hear all the wonderful things our troops do. American troops giving the majority of there pay to help Iraqis. Requesting longer deployments to stay & help train Iraqis in all aspects. What Have I done for the troops. I watch over there families during deployments including my own. I support wounded warrior, homes for our troops, Treats for our troops, Helmet protection programs, Now I help sponsor welcome home parties. I Help cook for Fisher houses. The best thing I do is hug & tell a soldier, airman, marine, sailor thank you for your service & sacrifice, that some Americans are worth the fight!

Not everyone supports the troops. Nearly everyone SAYS they support the troops because that's the politically correct thing to do. Remember all those people who called our guys "baby-killers" during Vietnam? They're still around. They still believe it. They just won't say it. Too impolitic. Look at Al Gore and John Kerry. In the States, they support the troops, but when they get overseas, they accuse American Soldiers and Marines of "Terrorizing" women and children.

Why don't you ask a soldier what he or she would like to see? As a current soldier, those things are exactly what you are calling "mouthing that you support them."

Saying, "I support the troops, but not the mission" is the biggest slap in the face to us soldiers. And I bet you are one who says that all the time. No, soldiers do not want to be in Iraq, but they don't want to leave the job before it is done.

A simple hand shake and "thank you for your service" which I receive everyday when I am in uniform in "fly-over" country is more than we expect.

We just want to not be called baby killers and be spat in the face when we come home. Just say thank you and be on your way.

I have some family over there right now, and a few friends too. I show support by visiting their websites, responding to their request for items, (so yes I do send care pkgs) , sending them pics, helping out their families. 1 guy who is a guy who is stationed with my cousin, asked if I could check on his Grandma who lives blks from my house. This guys Grandma is awesome, I visit with her once a week, print up pics for her he puts on their websites, she came to Church with us last Wednesday. Of course I'm going to look out for his Grandma, and I don't even know this Dude, but he is looking out for me, and he doesn't know sh*t about me either. I'm against protesters who stage themselves outside Cemeteries & Funeral homes, screaming "Bring our troops home" that is totally uncalled for!

I don't condone war at all, I truly wish it never existed. I don't support Bush or his Administration. I don't believe we had a justifiable claim to go over to Iraq & we should stay the hell out of Iran too!
But I do support our Troops, a lot of them don't agree they should be there either, but once they got there they all say the same thing, "We don't believe in the war, We believe in the humanitarian efforts we are ordered to provide to the Iraqi people, and we are willing to stay until the job is done, these people need us"and that is who and what I support, the ones who know first hand, and no one else!
And the most powerful thing I can do for them is PRAY!

Well what can I do but what you have mentioned? Besides reading and writing letters of encouragement and praying for them. I pray for them to have god help them crush this evil enemy that would rid the world of individual freedom and other rights given to us by God. If I were younger I would enlist again and fight again for my country but I'm too old now and would just get in their way. And yes I want them to come home as soon as possible!I can't stand that saying "I support the troops but not the mission" It would be like one of you of the liberal ilk saying Hillary Clinton is on a mission to becoming president. Although I support Hillary 100% I do not support her mission. Makes sense? Yes come home as soon as possible but not like we did in Viet Nam but as victors over the evil that uses terrorism and cowardliness to kill Innocent people if they won't cow tow to their rule. I hate war as much as anyone but I will fight to defend our god given right to be free with my last breath.

When you support a dentist you want him to fix teeth successfully. When you support a doctor you want him to heal people successfully. So it would stand to reason that if you support soldiers you would want us to fight wars successfully.
