What exactly happened for him to change into dude love and what was the skit????

Mankind was trying for weeks to get Stone Cold pick him to be his tag team partner against Owen Heart and (I think it was) the British Bulldog. Austin of course said no, and decided to go out and fight Owen and the Bulldog alone. Bout halfway through the match, Mick pops up on the Titantron dressed as a hippie. His words were something like:
"Owww, Steve-O. Whats happening my man. Now I can't blame you for not wanting to team up with that mutilated freak Mankind. But you never said nothing about the hippest cat in the land. Steve-O, baby, its me Dude Love. And I'm coming to save the day. Owwwww, have mercy."
Course the Dude comes down to the ring and Austin's got this WTF look on his face. Vince (prior to his Mr. McMahon persona) is at the announce table with good ole' JR, and the two of them are freaking out.
Anyway, Dude and Austin ended up winning the match and the tag team titles. I don't remember much after that. I think Foley and a couple women danced in the ring and he and Austin shared a couple cans of Stevewiser.

It's Nick Foley and I met him in Fla. I created the idea of Mankind. The idea was Mankind is the nameless, faceless (office) workers that really make America go and never get the credit they deserve. Neat, huh? True story too. The mask symbolizes the unknown heros behind the scenes that do the real work. He is just one of many wrestlers I met while in Fla. in the '80s (before they became wrestlers). I would list them but you would think I'm lying. But I'm not.

Dude Love was Mick Foley's first wrestling gimick durring his backyard wrestling days. He's also been known as Cactus Jack, and Mankind in WWE,ECW, and WCW. For more info, read his book "Have A Nice Day" which goes into more details on it.

I remember him.He changed because of kane.Kane attacked him and chokeslamed him on the steel which sent him to hospital.The next night mankind came out and said that kane ruined dude love with that chokeslam.

he was originally dude love when mick foley wanted to be a wrestler. That was his backyard wrestling name, then he became jack something, then cactus jack, then mankind, then dude love, then back to mick foley
