Is there any way I can make my keyboard soundless? I need to use if in class and as you all know, it p*ss a lot of people off when you typing away as others are trying to contract. It's damm near the same as trying to study as others talk on their cell.

However, I am dyslexic and need good old tech to help me get by in spelling. I can exploit my disability and get special favors but that will just hurt me in the end. And I don’t want special treatment, just ideas. Anyways, is there a company that makes keyboards to be soundless? What about court reporters, what do they use on their keyboard to make it soundless?

Please help.

yes, actually, there are soundless keyboards, such as the type that are used in court... as it would be highly IRRITATING to hear the tappitytaptaptap all the time.

However... they cost a buttload, and I think they're special order since they're not exactly high in demand. They're made a lot like a touch-pad... not individual keys, but utterly flat and... yes hard to explain but they're really just a touchpad... so you're not actually pressing anything down... and therefore it is soundless.

I don't know where you can get them for sure.... look at Dell, or else go to Best Buy, Circuit City, or some computer specialists and ask them.
