Do middle-eastern people who live here still face racism from westerners?

As long as humans remain ignorant, you will always have racism as a response mechanism against the odd. When you see something new, either you accept it or you dont, and the more you travel, the more you see, the less racist you become, and the more open you become, & more tolerant you grow towards other people believes, traditions, and different looks. The problem in the states is a lot of ignorant people, a lot of snobs, mix them together you get racist behavior, so the more educated we become and the more we learn, the more tolerant we become.

Yes. I am middle eastern, though dress and act 100% westernized (was born and raised in California) and have experienced some negative people. I can only imagine what those who dress and act more traditionally go though.

Some but not as much as you think. I've known quite a few middle easterners that own businesses... they are treated and accepted normal.

See, the key here is having money. Money is respected and most middle easterners have money.

Looking at the answers your getting you have sampled a great bunch. Calcutta black hole?? Calcutta is in India no relation to terrorism. Social discomfort?? Arabs must weed out fanatics and terrorists?? Great examples of racism and a great excuse it is not racism. Oklahoma bombing, how many fanatics and terrorists were weeded out from Christianity??
Such great hospitality given to foreigners, I wonder why they hate us???

They cause social discomfort here which is to be expected because of recent events. It is not racism it is reaction to percieved threat.
