Across seas, they feast on lamb, ham, and the such and drink beer and be merry.
There are parades or 2, and a hunt for ia 4-leaf clover which,if someone finds, the finder will have good luck untill the eve of St. Patrick's Day the next year.
Usually celebrated March 17th.

Kiss the blarney stone or reasonable facsimile. Drink green beer. Dance a jig. Find some shamrocks. Wear green. In Savannah they die the river green too. Probably the best St. Paddy's day celebration in the US is Savannah, Ga.

Drink, eat and look for drunk women to screw.

And yes, the place to be for St. Patrick's day is Savannah, GA. Like Mardi Gras.

Instead of Corned Beef (which is an American tradition) try Colcannon or shepherd's pie. You can get the recipes off the internet. My family always watches The Quiet Man. (a John Wayne movie, but I promise, it's not a cowboy movie!)

Wear green, preferably with a shamrock. Drink Guiness or green beer (food coloring). Eat something Irish, most commonly corned beef and cabbage but also maybe lamb stew and soda bread, or steak and kidney pie.

It's the celebration of Irish heritage. No, not everyone is Irish, but everyone is welcome to celebrate with this vivacious culture!
