I've been in a relationship for almost 3 years and want to get married sometime next year. What should a couple do to prepare to get married?

I'm emotionally ready for marriage I just want to know if there are some things I need to know or do before getting married. If I have to push back the date when I get married I don't mind as long as I get married knowing everything is in place.

Discuss the future together... find out what you want for your future kids, your careers, a house, where to live, etc. etc. Anything and everything.
Picture the 2 of you growing old together... do you see it happening?
Can the both of you live with each other's flaws? Is communication good? Is trust really there? How about honesty? I assume they are since you've been together for almost 3 years. Just make sure those things are in line. : }

As 4 a woman, I would want 2 make sure that I have my own everything. I would hate 2 depend on a man 4 anything, u know just in case it doesnt work out; u always will have sumthin 2 fall back on. Get the 2 of ur finances in order and start planning on buying a house. Do it big! Good luck

Love each other, want to make a commitment to spend your life with each other, hope to have a family together and most importantly are friends to each other then ya might be ready for marriage. Time is not the factor although by 3 years time if you are not ready to take that step you probably will not take it, not with this partner.

As long as you have communication, trust and honosty and you love each other you need nothing more. Marriage does not come with a handbook, your heart is the only thing you can follow. I say this only because myself got married two weeks ago.
