Being a prisoner is NOT confidential in any way, shape or form.

Once you become a prisoner, you are considered a ward or property of the state and forfeit your civil rights... note: doesn't mean you don't still have humanitarian rights.

This is why sometimes teachers take students, etc... to view ppl in prison. They have no rights to say, "I don't want to be shown here." I've seen websites with lists of prisoner's names before in NC,etc... because that is PUBLIC information; although, I am not aware of one for Texas.

Try these though:

Type Texas Dept of Corr. in the search engine. When you get to the page, click on inmate population but, you have to have his DOC# (Dept of Corr.) to get his profile.

I hope not. With the violence we have inside prisons, their info should not be leaked for their own protection. Reguardless of the reason for conviction their fate is set by judical process and leaking of information can cause prison violence. Small world news travels fast.
