Depends solely on one's opinion. A more left-leaning individual will appreciate a government with a socialist agenda; while a right-leaner will generally prefer a limited state and a free market. Climate is another consideration. Does one prefer warm or cool, wet or dry, etc.? The criteria are endless but, in the end, it's one's opinion that matters.

And contrary to popular belief, the rest of the world doesn't want to live here. Perhaps a sizable percentage, but that can be attributed to the media's glamorous portrayal of American culture, i.e., excess.

Depend on what you consider better. Our pay sucks for a developed nation. We get the least days off of all developed nations. We have the strongest economy. The hardest working people in the developed nation (I was shocked). The strongest military. Our judicial system is mediocre at best. Our lifespan was mediocre several years back, but has improved recently. We have the most prisoners in the world.

It really depends on your social beliefs and how you wish to live your life. I think socialism is a far more intellegent socio-economic management than capitalism. So I would say yes. Canada and the U.K. both have efficent societies and a shorter work week (not sure about canada). European socalism is based on psychological freedom (shorter work week, better social catch net, better education, and higher taxes) and physical opression. American socialism (yes we are socialist, you can only be socialist or communist when it boils down to it) is based on free enterprise and unfourtinately distinction is based on ones ability to manipulate a very flawed system this forces physical freedom and psychological opression..

Despite all the detractors I think the US sets the standard for the world and if it weren't for the US a lot of other countries would not be as able to be free.

We may have our problems, but we bring them out in the open and address them as best we can. Nobody has given any true argument as to why other countries are better and where the world would would be with out the US.

If our country is so bad why do we have lots of people wanting to come here???
