I have an interest/ need for to seal computer mb disk. Do you think the food saver would keep humidity out? Are they air tight ? ever tried?

Got to be better than a zip bag for my computer stuff. A friend of mine thinks before we go on trips this would be a nice idea to seal our computer floppy MB disks.

So how long do you think they'll stay dry? seen frozen food still get freezer burn? Please tell me if you have ever tried for alternative use.

Important: Have ever had humidity inside bag when at water?

Alright if not able to answer of know that then Has a freezer bag ever become separated apart and open before you want it to ?

I've air sealed a lady friend's wedding dress. I done it to toilet paper for camping too. It works great! I've had a few bags open up on me but it was user error. A couple of times the bags I re-used had a small hole in it. The other time the bone in a T-bone steak popped through the bag. If you want something dry or air tight get the the food saver. (no, I'm not getting paid for this infomercial)

I travel a lot and have used the foodsaver bags for all kinds of things. Just spend a little more money and don't get the low end model or the cheapest bags. I put everything from lotions, to hair products to computer accessories in them. Once I put a perfume in one and the glass broke the bag liquifying everything in my luggage. Good news, the memory stick, CDs and even the sealed laptop stayed dry. Clothes stunk though!

I have used my food save to seal the anti-static bags for shipping computer components and it works just fine b/c it is as air tight as the material allows it to be.
FWIW, the Foodsaver bags are NOT air tight as smells can still escape the bag..(I use my foodsaver for packing backpacking food, and the NPS swears that a bear can smell what's inside of them, so something is getting out if that is the case..)

I have tried the "Seal a Meal" machine and it is just awful. Maybe a very expensive brand might work, but I have just used heavy duty freezer bags. Sounds crazy, but you can close it almost all the way and then suck the remaining air out. Wallah-air tight. I keep a lot in my freezer this way.

I can tell you this: the Food Saver airtight sealer got my European Marijauna and Hashish through Customs and by their damned ol'dogs when returning state-side. Crushed the hell out of it, but that was alright. So, I think your diskettes oughta be alright.

Though, over yonder, acrost the pond, it wadn'a called a Food Saver, but it was the same thing.

It should be all right if the disk is completely dry before putting them in the bag. It is not the same as food as the food has moisture in it.♪
