Some women will have pain during their periods aka cramps but no not all will have the mild cramping. My mom said she did not when she was having her periods.

It doesn't have to hurt - smoe women/girls never have cramps or bloating or any other ill effects - while other women lay in bed for 4 days wondering what the heck is giong on down there :). And some women it is different each and every cycle. So if you are bleeding then you started your period - and if you aren't in pain - great - just don't assume you won't have any at all - but be glad for the days you don't - and just remember from now on to always carry pads/tampons discreetly on you somehow cause it's the worst thing to be stuck at school or in public and have to ask someone to get you one :)

You should be thankful. It doesn't hurt all the time and it doesn't hurt for everyone. But if you are really concern or if the flow is abnormal or too long (if it is the first time ever, the period might take longer than what is normal) you should seek a doctor's opinion. It is good to go anyway, after you have your first period just as a check up.

Nope doesn't always hurt. Some people never get cramps at all, while others are unable to get out of bed because the pain is so great. Sounds like your one of the lucky ones, be happy, cramps are no fun!

You dont have to get cramps to have a period. Usually the first period is a dark brownish reddish color with no smell. Sometimes you don't get PMS symptoms before your period. Tell your Mom or trusted adult about it just to be safe. If you have begun to grow a little pubic hair and your breasts have grown, and you've noticed yellowish, clear discharge on your underwear before this happened, these are also signs.
