I have a problem i think to much! (which makes me worry to much) I know we all need to and its normal to think but i do it to much. I have trouble sleeping because of this.

Does anyone else have this problem? And how do u deal with it?

My husband takes 5mins to go to sleep when we go to bed but it takes me well over an hour and anywhere between 2-3hrs. I cant help but lay there and think about the past present and future. Sometimes when i ask people what there thinking, they say nothing! I cant remember the last time i thought about nothing (im not even sure if this is possible)

People say to relax and switch off our brains but i dont know how!

Any ideas or suggestions?

Im only 21 and im affraid its going to make me crazy!

My thoughts just dont seem to stop!

Yes, I think way too much I can think up every possible positive and negative occurence to anything... I can stay up all night pondering one simple decision! I found not worrying about things you can't change is the first step. Second is just going with you gut, and realizing you can't do anything about whatever your thinking until you wake up, and if you don't go to sleep you will be to tired to wake up and do something about it. Then realize that the simple answer is probably the best one! Reading also helps to take your mind off the day and so you can switch off and relax. get a good light hearted fiction novel I'm reading something borrowed, it helps me take my mind out of reality and relax! Sometimes I read the bible also to let my mind unwind from my day to day. Music might also help, but sometimes that helps me sometimes it keeps me up longer! Whatever it is turn off the computer, cuz you can stay up forever looking at this thing!

Girl yes! I deal with this on a daily basis. Everyday I constantly find something to worry about. It never fails. I guess you could say it kinda controls me. I have this thing where I'll over analyze a conversation I may have had with someone. And seriously, I dissect it and will spend the rest of the day thinking about it. I pay extra close attention to people's body language and to the way they speak, when something seems "out of the ordinary" to me. I"ll be thinking about that and what it would've meant. Now, the only time I have trouble sleeping is when something major may have happened during the day. But yeah, I Try to keep my anxiety in check and not let it completely take over. I have to continually remind myself not to sweat the small stuff and to stop being so insecure. But that's easier said than done. Well, hoped this helped, some what...

don't drink coffee or drinks containing caffeine after 6PM
try drinking a cup of warm milk at bedtime.
Do you sleep in late, if so set an alarm to get up by 7AM, maybe your sleeping times is being skewed.

If these don't help , go to a heath food store and buy "Meletonin"
3MG pills..Take one, 1/2 hour before bed, you will fall asleep fast but for the first month you may have VIVID DREAMS, after that any dreams are just normal ones.

I always had a hard time sleeping and staying asleep, I eat one meletonin every night and sleep quickly and well

Good luck
