Looking for the voulumn icon dont know what i did. HELP?

went in to my control panel clicked on performance then clicked on systems, clicked hardware tab then device manager still i cannot find it. I have a Gateway laptop cx200x notebook. Please someone out there help.

start bye going back to the control panel then then click on sounds and audio devices,check the box where it says place volume icon in the taskbar.there shoud be a check mark beside it if not check it .that should fix it ..GOOD LUCK
