I answered your question for you in the other catagory as well.

You say you've had your girl for for 4 weeks. How old is she now? Your answer will allow me to add more info for you.

More often then not a mating between a male and a female rat will lead to a pregnancy. It only takes a few seconds to mate if the sexes are allowed to interact. Only once have I had a girl not like the male and refuse him.

From my experience as a Rat Breeder, your rat's pregnancy, if she *is* pregnant, is not going well.

If she were pregnant she should have delivered her babies after around 21 days of gestation. A month long pregnancy is too long. If the babies have died inside her then she might now be getting a uterine infection called Pyometra

I've had my own experiences with this kind of pregnancy gone wrong.

I have never heard of a miscarriage in rats, and I've been on 12+ rat-only forums for the last 11 years. On a rare occasion I'm sure it could happen, but no one on the forums has mentioned it yet. Usually if a rat can't carry her babies to term the fetuses will be reabsorbed.

If she is not pregnant, the bleeding still indicates that something is very wrong with your girl and the best course of action is to get her to the vet.

Please note that due to their instincts as a prey animal, rats are very stoic and your girl will try to act as normal as possible, for as long as she can, until she is too ill. You are already seeing signs of lethargy. Continuous bleeding will lead to shock, and shock leads to death.

if there is alot of blood take her to the vet she most likely is having a miscarriage because of the fact that she is so young.
