I am seeking music from any genre, but preferrably stuff a younger crowd would enjoy, that would clearly deliver messages of self-esteem topics. For example; empathy, sympathy, peer pressure, acts of kindness, confidence, respect, etc. I teach a group of students, majority age is early 20's, and I want to jazz it up, spice it up, and make it more interesting for them. I have chosen one song so far; Everclear - "Then You Really Might Know What It's Like To Have The Blues" to give a message of empathy. I'm looking forward to your responses and I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to assist me with this.

A lot of Everclear songs will work, so good choice so far.

2 that pop into my head are:

Ain't Nothin' Wrong With That or Thrill of It- both by Robert Randolph and the Family Band

and

Everyday- Dave Matthews

Maybe Fly Like an Eagle by Steve Miller Band

Bobby Mc Farren's Don't Worry Be Happy, Happiness Runs by Donovan, Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce, I'm just waiting on a friend by the Rolling Stones, I'm Crazy by Knarles Barkley, Sentimental Gental Rain by Bob Welsh (Fleetwood Mac), Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac, Needle and the Damage Done by Neil Young, That Smell by Lynyrd Skynyrd, And I love Her by the Beatles, Break it To Me Gently by Juice Newton, Running on Faith by Eric Clapton, Everyone wants to be together by Steve Winwood's newest band. Some are anti drug, some feel good, some faith in our seleves, some just have a positive message, some are downright the result of substance abuse inspiration. I hope this helps a little. I know some are older, but they are timeless. Good songs have no time constraints.

The only ones I can think of right now are...
Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
I'm Sill Here (Jim's Theme), Always Know Where You Are - Johnny Rzeznik
You'll Be In My Heart - Phill Colins
Bad Day - Daniel Powter
Clocks - Coldplay
Where'd You Go - Fort Minor
Try To Believe - Oingo Boingo
Remember When (Disneyland 50th Theme) - LeeAnn Rhymes
Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), Waiting, Poprocks & Coke - Green Day

(Even though the title Poprocks & Coke doesn't sound very sanitary, trust me I highly recoment it, cause it sings about friendship and how "I'll be there for you"...)
