You can argue the pro or con about what should have happened to the little girl's father when he killed the rednecks who raped her. I personally thought they should've given him a medal, but not everyone would agree with me. There's your first argument right there.

I agree with both of the two ladies who answered before me. I am a huge John Grisham fan and if you like his movies read his books. The screenplays are good but the books are wayyyyyy better. I read the book way before they made it a movie.

Also, if you did not know John Grisham is an attorney which explains why his books are all centered around the law.

All sorts of different subjects you could talk about:

racial issues; hate crimes; victims of crimes; taking justice into your own hands; standing up for what you believe is right; making public and personal sacrifices in order to stand up for something you believe in.

This was an excellent movie and an excellent book. I think the best part is the way Jake leads the jury through the "color blind" exercise in order to make a fair decision.
