ok, the computer recognizes it, but the data won't show, it asks me to re-format it... this happened after I let my friend borrow in on a MAC, do u think that has something to do with it?

There is a possibility that you could just replace the logic board on it and retrieve the data. But you would have to have the same board from pretty much the same model in order for it to work.

You will have to elaborate on "Crash". Does it power up? Does the computer detect it, but just not show the data? More details please.
