Definitely. 45-9. Only five teams in the HISTORY of the NBA had a better mark at 44-9. The Mavericks might have a shot at 70 wins. And this is Avery's 2nd season as a head coach. There's no doubt.

Absolutely amazing. And apparently without the MVP of the league, cause that's Nash and with only one traditional All Star. (sarcasm)

They have to award the Mavericks something, right?

i'm guessing understand- the great take care of the "secret prepare" the day in the previous immediately and Avery's demeanor after the sport shows to me that there is a robust threat he's not coming back. additionally somebody ought to be the "scapegoat" and it should not be Cuban even although as each and every of the Mavs followers have been affirming the Jason Kidd commerce quite harm them- they lost Harris (who i don't understand could have been a celebrity) yet is beneficial against quickly element guards (and the West is loaded with quickly guards): Paul, Parker, Ellis, Williams, Iverson, etc. and additionally dropping 2 draft selections and tying up $20 million in earnings to Kidd- who on an identical time as honestly everyone needs the Mavs to get rid of him -- they are caught with him lots the comparable way the Suns are caught with Shaq. i think of Avery is out.. and it could or won't be a solid pass in accordance with who they replace him with... Jerry Sloan! He has really done a nice job rebuilding the Jazz in a tough conference. He is very underrated overall. i think he is a hall of fame coach, I hope he wins a title at some point. It is so refreshing to see the longevity that is missing in all major sports as well.

yep, he led the Mavs to #1 seed in NBA despite the fact that they started off 0-4.

He led the team to 44 wins out of 49 games.
That should be enough to say that he's the best coach of the year

Jerry Sloan. The award almost always goes to the coach of the team that sucked the year before and improved the year after

just think why popovich does not get coach of the year every single year. consistency is not the main thing. and it doesnt help if your team is full of superstars. check the past teams and winners of this award. the nba gives it to someone who turns a team around coming from a mediocre previous season. and if there's a bit of drama going on with star player and coach, that helps too.

look for sloan or sam mitchell's name to come out this season.

I love avery but i have to give it to Jeff Van Gundy. Losing yao who could have been in the mvp race, and tmacs constant injuries have been difficult for the rockets, yet they still prevail. its sort of like the pacers over the last 2 seasons. They lose their stars, but their coach keeps them in the race.
