The 'F' word is one of the most versatile words in the English language, it can be a verb, noun, adjective, etc. But the most interesting fact about it most people don't even know what it comes from, it is a abbreviation: For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. It is only filthy minds that make filthy words. But that is just the way it is.

because people need something to be offended over... just like people need exclusion groups (college and religion) and people need to feel more important than others (large words) if you really think about it everything in the world is motivated by base emotions such as anger... you know so people just want to act offended. By saying the F word you are not truly hurt. Totally a psychological exp. It is not as if I have stabbed you, so people who get that offended should piss off.

Yes, they are just words, but over the years, they have gained certain connotations that people find offensive.
Let's put it in a different light. People eat coagulated cow sweat all the time, and yet, I doubt anyone puts "coagulated cow sweat" on their grocery list. But they WILL put down "cottage cheese."
