My eyelids have become really dry. The skin is even forming little flakes. Also, I'm only in my 20s but I noticed that the skin under my eyes are starting to form lines. I'm not sure if they are just eye bags because I don't get a lot of sleep every night or maybe they are wrinkles =(

What is the best eye cream that is not too expensive? I would appreciate anyone's help.

You might have eczema. I had it when I was younger and had flaky eyelids. It is a weird place to go dry, so if it becomes a bigger problem, I would get a creme from a dermatologist.

I would actually recommend Vasaline for your eyelids because that area is very sensitive and putting other things with chemicals on them can make the problem worse.

Look for creams such as 1% or 2.5% hydrocortisone creams and apply them twice daily for up to seven days. There are a variety of brands available and you can choose which one is affordable for you.

Elidel Pimecrolimus 1% cream is highly effective but also expensive. But if you can afford it, use it twice a day and avoid sunlight or artificial light or sunscreens.

As a preventive measure, avoid the use of some products that may aggravate your eyelid dermatitis. These products include: eye makeup, mascara, lotions or moisturizers, hairspray, hair dyes, sunscreens, nail polishes or enhancements (we sometimes scratch our eyelids), contact lens solutions.

For better advice, I suggest you go see a dermatologist.

Try Burts bees lip salve. Have you been using any mascara for a long time, say over six months and keep on using it, because you might find that your eyelid has been infected, though that might no be the case. Yeah, so try Burts bees, it works really well.

Drinking more water helps tremendously with skin!! Before buying a bunch of expensive creams and lotions, drink more water each day, for a week, then see if you still have skin issues. I'm 44 and drink about 4 bottles of water a day... I have minimal crows-feet around my eyes!!

It sounds like both issues may be because you need to moisturize that area. Use cream especially for eyes. Avon has a good one.

You can use any facial wash you want, as long as it says it will moisture or hydrate. Wash with warm water and rinse. This will open your pores. Gentle dab a little Vaseline or olive oil just underneath your brows. (It will spread on its own and penetrate with open pores) Then rinse again with cold water to close the pores on the rest of your face.
