Are there no dogs in Iceland?

I have heard that dogs were outlawed in Iceland, and that there are no dogs there. So, travelers to Iceland cannot bring dogs with them

Yes you can bring you Dog, But keep a close eye on it .

Interesting... I guess then they can't mush through the snow.

How did they get rid of them? Did the natives eat them?
