It was Halloween and I was out trick or treating with my mom and a group of other children not far from where I lived. I was six years old, and pretty impressionable as little girls sometimes are.

Down the end of the block was "The Mansion" as it was called by the locals. It was all lit up and decorated for the holiday, a cemetery scene in the front lawn and eerie howls and screams coming from the front porch. I was shaking in my boots!

My mom could not convince me to even come near the place! But my best buddy finally talked me into coming up to the porch. But before we even got that far, what we thought was a dummy lying on the lawn got up and started chasing us!

I screamed bloody murder and ran all the way home! That was about the scariest thing that had ever happened in my very young life! Now that I think back on this, that was a very lousy thing to do to a couple of six year olds!
