Why is it that people think it is alright to bash Mexicans? I'm not mexican, and I'm not defending them either...I'm pretty neutral on the subject, but why are so many questions directed towards them in a negative way?
Just curious..please no rude comments towards me, I'm just asking!
Thanx

I don't know why people think it's okay. It pisses me off when they do though. I guess a lot of people think that people from Mexico are coming to America and taking jobs away from American workers, which they aren't. Immigrants usually will take jobs that native born Americans think they are too good to do.

I don't really understand why people find it necessary or acceptable to bash any specific group of people. However, I think that people are generally uncomfortable with change - especially big change. And much of the US is seeing big change due to the immigration of many Mexicans. I think people get uncomfortable with the language differences (ever hear anyone say, "It's rude for them to talk to each other when I can't understand..." OR maybe it's rude to eavesdrop - lol). I think some people believe that all Mexicans in the US are undocumented. They forget that even non-citizens can come here legally - and many do. I also believe that most undocumented immigrants are trying to do the right thing for their families - whether we agree with it or not.

Just my thoughts...

Not so much all Mexicans - just the 20 million illegal ones...that take away jobs, bleed the welfare, health and education systems dry. Send billions of dollars out of the country, commit crimes, and spit in the face of everyone who went through the process to come here legally.

it's call racism....and if you don't know already, this not just toward the Mexicans.....

I guess it's because people are uncomfortable and are intimidated when they're with someone who is from a different culture......that is why they would come up with harsh comments to cover up their weakness.

my husband is guilty of this and the reason he does it is cause...
at his job in Ohio..he is a foreman in bricklaying and on a job site while eating his lunch one day group of Mexican men ran out of the building and left in a huff..later they were turned in for having fake s.s.cards and working under false pretenses..my husband is upset cause this is work a legit person would've had...this problem has occur ed a few times in this area...i understand his point but,it doesn't affect me.....it does not make him a racist cause he would have been angry no matter who it was..he looks out for his workers and someone else turned them in...

SIMPLE BECAUSE THERE IS SUCH A THING A RACISM.
OH AND BY THE WAY NOT ALL LATINOS ARE MEXICAN, IT JUST THAT EVERY IGNORANT FOOL WHO SEES A SPANISH SPEAKING PERSON ASSUME THAT THEY ARE MEXICANS.
AND WE ARE NOT. PLUS JUST IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW IS THANKS TO ALL THOESE MEXICANS THAT THE SOCIAL SECURITY IS STILL WORKING.

Because they believe what they are doing is right. If they dislike something, and that subject happens to oppose them, they will do everything in their power to hate.

That is what we called racism. Nothing else comes to my mind, except that we are all human. That's what human will do to cover up their weakness.

I think you mean Hispanics, not just Mexicans.

To answer your question, it's something called xenophobia.

Racism, and it happens to everyone, personally I think whites have it the worst, but maybe I'm biased being white.
