I've been psychiatrists, and psychologists....and I'm sorry, but talking about it doesn't make it better. To be honest it only seems to make it worse. I have some severe anxiety. Most of the time its bad enought that I don't even want to leave the house. I even have a hard time going to school, and as for a job, forget it! I've tried St. Johns wort, and Kava-Kava, but had no help. Does anyone know of anything, or something that has worked for them. I don't want something that I have to take all the time, just when I need it.

There are many options for anti anxiety relief from naturopathic medicine. If you have not been to see a Naturopathic Doctor and you want some quick relief I would suggest trying "rescue remedy" by Bach flower essence. It is usually available at you local natural foods store. Just put the drops under your tounge and you will feel relief. The best way to control anxiety is to get to the root of why you are having it. You might want to make an appointment with a natural medicine doctor that can help you with some neurotransmitter testing or testing the hormones secreted by your adrenal glands. There are many medical reasons for anxiety that can be fixed with out having to take meds all the time. Check it out.

Today, many years later, and after suffering through one failing cure or another, for me it was found that I suffer from a low serotonin level in my brain, and the episodes with alcohol affect this situation in a huge way. The chemicals in my brain are not like the majority of my friends, so they could no easier understand how I was feeling as I could understand there freedom from it. It was only as the years went on, even after I stopped drinking alcohol, that the anxiety began to happen all the time. I guess the hormone levels just kept getting lower and lower. Eventually I felt this terrible anxiety all the time. Fortunately for me, I found a mental health doctor that understood what was happening, and diagnosed me with something called 'Social Anxiety Disorder'. He put me on a drug called Paroxetine, or commonly known as Paxil, and I have been able to live again. It gave me back a chance to live my life again, but what a night mere I went through.
Just know that you can break this anxiety, but sometimes you need alittle help.
